RUI Studio Help

What the software does

Core capabilities and the everyday design-to-export flow.

RUI Studio (formerly RUI Builder) designs screens on a PC and exports them for STM32 + RA8889 projects.

Core capabilities

  • PPT-style visual UI and grouped controls: snap, thumbnails, multi-window design. Window layout: Main window layout. See Place controls and Pages.
  • Vector / stylized text: eight art effects. Register fonts first, then overlay text (including step overlay labels). The installer ships a subset; more fonts are on the forum.
  • Unicode font packs: per-glyph work, regional packs, custom sets. See Soft text.
  • Drawing overlays + effect rasterization: effects bake on the PC; the panel shows packed images with no runtime cost. Place shapes from Place controls, then rasterize or crop from background. Adjust pictures in the Image adjustment lab.
  • Industrial UART protocol: CRC16, ACK, power-on silence, custom frames. See HMI UART.
  • One-click Keil sources: page render, touch map, VP table, callback stubs. See Export code.
  • RA8889 GPU-accelerated display: JPG/PNG/BTE paths — the MCU does not soft-paint the whole UI.

Typical workflow

  1. Set screen size and add pages.
  2. Place fills, images, text, and controls (buttons, sliders, tables).
  3. Use Variable design and Callback design for values and key logic.
  4. Bind jumps, set/add variables, and refresh displays on touch areas or controls.
  5. Open effect demo and click through on the PC.
  6. Export code, pack images, then burn to on-panel FLASH over USB.
